About Us
What we do
The Society of Construction Contract Practitioners fosters excellence in contract administration.

Comprised of practitioners from across the construction industry, we aspire to set and uphold industry standards guided by principles of impartiality, fairness, transparency, integrity, and ethics.
Leveraging expertise from a range of delivery methods, contract types, project roles, and industry sectors, our goal is to facilitate fair and reasonable resolutions to complex contractual issues.
By addressing inconsistencies in contract administration and promoting trust and integrity, our aspiration is to enhance decision-making, foster collaboration, and elevate industry outcomes. Guided by Codes of Ethics and Conduct, we aim to advocate for best practices and provide a supportive network for collective improvement.
General membership is open to anyone with an interest in our work. As well as Independent Certifiers (formerly Engineers to Contract) and Contract Administrators, we welcome project managers, quantity surveyors, lawyers, principals, contractors… anyone with a passion for contract administration and industry progress.
We also invite experienced practitioners to apply for a position on the Independent Certifier Panel. That panel represents a community of experienced NZS3910 contract specialists with a proven background in the role of Independent Certifier (formerly EtC).
The SCCP is a technical group of Engineering New Zealand, a non-profit membership organisation, dedicated to promoting the interests of engineers and engineering. Engineering New Zealand members are professional, credible and up to date with industry changes. As New Zealand's professional body for engineers since 1914, we create a community of learning, collaboration and support for engineers from all disciplines throughout the lifespan of their careers. We bring engineering to life.
